Tom Riley, a veteran of the real estate industry for more than 35 years, is the 2017 Treasurer of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. Tom is from Bedford, N.H.
Tom is President of Riley Enterprises, Inc., in Bedford, specializing in residential and commercial property and property management. He holds professional designations as a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and a Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB).
In 2015, Tom served as NAR’s Vice President for Region 1, serving Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. He is a member of the NAR Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and he previously served on the Board of Directors from 2007-2008 and 2010-2013. Tom also served multiple times on the Finance Committee, including as Vice Chairman in 2014.
He has been a member of the Strategic Investments Reserve Advisory Board, Broker Investment Council, Major Investor Council, and the RPAC Participation Council. Tom has been a Federal Political Coordinator for Senator Kelly Ayotte. He is an RPAC Golden ‘R’ and was inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame in 2014.
The New Hampshire Association of REALTORS® (NHAR) elected Tom as their President in 2011. Prior to that, he served as Treasurer. He has been on the Board of Directors since 2007, and has served on the Legal and Finance committees. Tom was also the RPAC Major Donor Chair for NHAR.
Tom served as President of the Greater Manchester/Nashua (GMNBR) Board of REALTORS® in 1998. He served as Treasurer from 1999 to 2005 and on the Board of Directors for 11 years.
He was awarded the NHAR Distinguished Service Award in 2012 and the GMNBR President’s Trophy in 2006. Tom is an Omega Tau Rho fraternity member.
Tom is a leader both in the real estate industry and in the community of Bedford. He is a past Director of the New Hampshire Cancer Society and the Moore Center for the Disabled. He served as the Chair and Vice Chair of the Town Council Finance Committee, the Zoning Board of Adjustment, and as the Conservation Chair.
Tom and his wife, Diane, have been married 44 years. Together they have two sons, Christopher and Craig, and three grandchildren. Tom and Diane have traveled to Guatemala with a group called Traveling Angels, where they provided shoes and school supplies to children, and installed water filters that provide clean water to residents. Tom is an avid hiker who has climbed the Austrian Alps and in 2010, he and his sons completed an ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, where he proudly raised the REALTOR® flag.
