Larry Oberly


Larry Oberly (CRB) oversees the growth and development of the RE/MAX network’s global presence including over 100 countries and territories.  RE/MAX is a franchisor, and through its franchised network, has over 7,000 offices and 106,000 agents.

RE/MAX career:

Larry joined RE/MAX in 1998 as a Management Consultant for the RE/MAX Central Ohio Region.  In 2000, he became Assistant Regional Director for RE/MAX Southwest – which covers Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada – and was promoted to Regional Director then to Region Vice President. Larry’s focus shifted in 2005, when he was promoted to Vice President, Regional Development – and again in 2006, as he was named Vice President, Global Development.  His leadership has helped RE/MAX expand into over 100 countries and territories on six continents.


Larry grew up in Ohio and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kent State University in Ohio, graduating summa cum laude.  He earned an MBA at California State University.  Larry holds the Six Sigma Green Belt certification and is a Certified Franchise Executive through the IFA.

Larry spent five years working for a national airline, holding positions such as pricing analyst, training supervisor and manager of outside sales.  He then worked as a product manager in systems marketing, and as a senior systems analyst in product development, for a computer firm serving the airline industry.

From 1989 to 1993, Larry was vice president for a privately-held service and maintenance company operating in 19 states.

Before joining RE/MAX, he was a multi-unit franchisee of Baskin-Robbins franchises in St. Louis from 1992 to 1998.


Larry and his wife, JoLinda, an entrepreneur who owns a medical training company, have one son.  Larry enjoys running, golf, travel, hosting parties at home, reading non-fiction and spending time with friends.  He has run over 15 half and full marathons since 2006.
