Dan entered the Mortgage business while he was a Sophmore in College, in 1979. He began as an originator of FHA and VA loans for Guild Mortgage in San Jose, CA.
After College Dan worked on Wall Street as a Bond Trader for Bear Stearns and later became a Vice President for their Mortgage Capital Group.
In 1984 he and his Partner Rob Hirt, founded Data Fax Credit Reporting. Data Fax became the 4th largest Mortgage Reporting Bureau in the US. The company was sold to TransUnion in 1988.
In 1989, Dan founded RPM Mortgage. RPM grew rapidly and in 1995 was sold to Finet Holdings. Dan later became CEO of Finet, and took the company public on the NASDAQ stock exchange. The company achieved a market cap of over $1 billion dollars by 1999.
Dan subsequently semi-retired to be with his wife and new born 3rd daughter, Audry.
In 2003 Dan accepted a position as EVP of National Production with WMC Mortgage, which later sold to GE.
Up until recently when Dan returned to RPM as the EVP of National Production, Dan was the SVP and Regional Manager for all of CA and HI, for PrimeLending.
Dan is married with 3 daughters, ages 18, 30 and 33. He recently became the grandfather of a baby girl named Avery.
Dan is an instrument rated pilot with thousands of hours flown and an avid sailor, He is a published author, his last book is titled, “Magnetic Wealth”
For the past 10 years Dan has recorded a video called “RateWatch”, which has thousands of followers.
