AREAA’s Finest Convention
AREAA’s National Convention, held each fall, attracts the organization’s best and brightest from all over the world to converge for three days of education, networking, and motivation. With over 1,200 attendees expected, it is our largest annual event and serves as a celebration of our accomplishments over the last year.
Attendees of the Convention will have the opportunity to engage with industry leaders and influencers sharing their insight during powerful breakout sessions. The breakout sessions cover a wide range of cutting edge topics, with an emphasis on the Asian American and Pacific Islander community’s role in shaping today’s real estate industry. Exclusive networking events provide attendees ample opportunity to mix and mingle in lavish settings with other professionals, helping forge new relationships both personally and professionally.
Built into the Convention’s agenda are multiple offsite events designed to showcase the host city and the many exciting lifestyle and real estate opportunities that can be found. Attendees can go on property tours of high end neighborhoods, and explore cultural, historical, and geographical landmarks on privately guided tours.
AREAA’s Conventions also feature celebrity, political, and other world class speakers to share their own personal stories and experiences as an Asian American and Pacific Islander at the top of their game. Past speakers of AREAA events include Christine Ha, winner of Masterchef; comedienne Ali Wong of Fresh Off the Boat and Baby Cobra; journalists Lisa Ling and Richard Lui; actor and activist Kal Penn of 24 and House; Congresspersons Grace Meng, Judy Chu, Mike Honda, and Al Green; and many others.
The AREAA National Convention has become a staple of the real estate industry, showcasing the rapidly growing importance and influence of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in business and real estate. The annual Convention is symbolic of AREAA’s growth and reach as a professional trade organization, and the 2017 event is set to be our Finest Convention in history.
America’s Finest City
Where does one begin when describing why San Diego is known as America’s Finest City?
Maybe it’s the near perfect year round weather (263 sunny days per year)? How about the over 70 miles of stunning coastline and world class surfing? The numerous PGA rated golf courses? What about the over 120 craft beer breweries? Don’t like beer – how about our vineyards? And how could we forget about our world famous Zoo (ranked #1 in the world by TripAdvisor)?
But what if we told you that San Diego also: has one of the best public universities in the world in UCSD; leads the nation in biotech and cleantech R&D; has the largest US military presence in the world; two of the best hospitals in the world in Scripps and Rady Children’s Hospital; boasts the largest urban cultural park in the country (yes, Balboa Park is larger than Central Park!); was rated the top destination for domestic travelers (Money, 2015); is the best city for small businesses (Forbes, 2014); and is home to the world’s busiest and most productive border? Cowabunga, indeed.
With just over 3.3 million residents in the metro area, San Diego produces an enormous $220.6B USD in GDP, putting the city on par with countries such as Vietnam and Finland. The city continues to attract some of the best and brightest of the next generation. San Diego has the highest concentration of 18-34 year olds among the top 25 most populous US metro areas, and attracted over 72,000 degree holders – more than any other major US metro area. The city’s population is also very diverse, speaking over 100 languages
San Diego is at the forefront of the next generation of smart and clean cities. San Diego was also the only city in North America to make National Geographic’s “World’s Smart Cities”. This dynamic business climate, young and talented labor force, and the active and healthy lifestyle of the city makes San Diego one of America’s most attractive destinations for business, investment, and generally anybody who loves living life to the very fullest.
For these reasons and more, we could think of no better host for our Finest Convention than San Diego: America’s Finest City.
